In the USA

All politics aside, I would encourage both U.S. Congress and the White House to make it their number one domestic agenda to create an environment conducive to increased hiring at both the big corporate level and the small business level. We need less pork, less spending and lower taxes...specifically as far as tax cuts go, a temporary curtailment of payrolls taxes and the capital gains tax which will kick start hiring. An across the board 5% spending cut would boost the economy. I'm also in favor of extending unemployment benefits. This is a competitive world, and the nation which comes out of this recession the quickest and strongest will have the head start to meet the demands of the changing world going forward.
